Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a serious disorder which occurs when the airway becomes narrowed or collapsed during sleep. Common symptoms of OSA include loud snoring, sudden “stops” and “starts” of breathing during sleep, restless sleep, unexplained daytime tiredness and morning headaches.
A common treatment for OSA is using Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, or CPAP. CPAP machines can be loud and cumbersome. Here at Hillside, in conjunction with your physician, we prescribe a custom made oral appliance made by SomnoMed. Our patients have reported increased comfort and a better night’s sleep using the SomnoMed appliance.
